Mo Town’s First Crop Set For OBS March
A Grade I-winning son of sire-of-sires Uncle Mo, Mo Town sends eight out at the OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale with six going through the ring with updates.
Gene Recio is represented by the first Mo Town through the ring with the son of Pardonmecomingthru cataloged as Hip 24. Breezing in :10.1, he is a half-brother to two winners out of the stakes placed Pardonmecomingthrough. That mare is one of four stakes performers out of Bridal Tea alongside Grade II winner Postponed, stakes winner Bridesmaid, and multiple stakes-placed Tea For Two along with the dam of stakes winning Bear.
This is also the family of Storm Cat, and Grade I winner Crowded House among others. The colt’s half-brother Unprecedented is also on a two race with streak at Gulfstream Park with both coming this year.
Bred on the A.P. Indy-lined dam cross that is so successful with Uncle Mo, Mo Town’s Hip 119 comes from Niall Brennan Stables. The filly is also a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade II-placed Competitive Speed and two other winners, including the nine-time winner Heather Hills.

Breezing in :10.0 is GOP Racing Stable’s Hip 409 out of the stakes-placed Empress of Midway.
That mare is the dam of one winner from two to race with her other runner placing multiple times in 2022. Empress of Midway is out of the stakes winning Miss City Halo, whose 10 winners also include the dam of Grade III-placed Gal In A Rush. The family includes Grade I winner Street Hero and Grade II winner Premier Pegasus.
Mo Town’s final through the ring is Hip 613, who breezed in :10.1 over the weekend. His dam is a half-sister to three stakes winners and five stakes placed runners overall, led by Grade III winner Mighty Caroline and American Pharoah’s Grade I-placed runner American Theorem.
