Mo Town’s Key Of Life Secures Another Stakes Victory
Mo Town’s Key Of Life (3f Mo Town x Longride to Wisdom, by Harlan’s Holiday) registered a second stakes success on Saturday when she won the Listed Purple Martin Stakes in easy fashion at Oaklawn Park.
Taking the lead immediately out of the gate in the six furlong dirt race, the filly showed the way around the track without much pressure from her rivals. Joined briefly in the turn, she quickly shrugged that runner off and steadily pulled away in the stretch for a 3 ¼ length victory.
It was the fourth victory in seven career starts for the Brad Cox trainee, who was bought by co-owner Flurry Racing Stable for $350,000 from Top Line Sales last year as a 2-year-old. Flurry Racing Stables is joined by Hoffman Family Racing in her racing ownership.
Bred by Moreau Bloodstock International, Key of Life is a granddaughter of multiple stakes winner Clever Idea. That mare is a half-sister to the dam of Grade II winner and successful sire Kantharos and to the dam of multiple stakes winner Lovenotlost.
Mo Town’s three stakes performers in 2023 is fifth best among all second crop sires with the stallion having six stakes performers and two stakes winners from his first crop to strike at a nine percent stakes performers to runner rate.
