Ro Town Romps for Mo Town at Gulfstream
Ro Town (3f Mo Town x Runfor Ro, by Afleet Alex) couldn’t have made her maiden-breaking score look any easier at Gulfstream Park on Sunday with a 6 ½ lengths Maiden Special Weight victory on the dirt.
Pressing the pace early on in the six furlong race, she took command with a little over a quarter mile left to go and it was smooth sailing from there. Jose Ortiz asked for more from the Brian Lynch trainee and she responded, building her lead with every stride to coast home well in front.
Bred by Rajenda Maharajh and owned by Raroma Stable, Ro Town is out of the multiple stakes placed Runfor Ro. The dam of four winners from four to race, Runfor Ro is out of a half-sister to multiple stakes placed Caviar Emptor.
Mo Town is now the sire of 27 winners with six stakes performers and two stakes winners among his first crop runners. Those six stakes performers are eighth best of all second crop sires with his 27 winners putting him seven best among his generation.
