Ten Echo Town Juveniles On Offer at OBS March

The first juvenile sale of the season sees 10 2-year-olds from Echo Town’s first crop go through the ring at the OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale March 12 – 14.

The first through the ring is Hip 47, a colt out of Bayou Miss offered by de Meric Sales.

Bred by Vossfeld Bloodstock, the colt is a half-brother to four winners out of his winning dam with that mare out of stakes winner and Grade III-paced Jaramar Rain. A successful broodmare as well, Jaramar Rain is the dam of multiple Grade II-placed Imperial Council and the stakes placed duo of Minesave and Monopolize.

Two of Jaramar Rain’s daughters have produced stakes performers, led by the stakes winning Oxymore.

A half-brother to the multiple stakes-placed Vagabond Princess sells as Hip 118 from de Meric Sales. Their dam Cave In has produced four winners from six to race with her other winners including four-time winner Al Brown.

A $90,000 yearling bred by Susan Young, the Cave In juvenile is a grandson of multiple graded stakes winner Quick Tip. Quick Tip produced multiple stakes winner and champion Too Much Tip and stakes winner Agent Di Nozzo with each dam on the page producing at least one stakes performer with two producing stakes winners. In all, there are seven stakes performers under the three dams on the page.

Hip 458 consigned by Craig Wheeler is the first foal out of a First Samurai half-sister to Grade 3 winner Pataky Kid and stakes placed Armour Plate.

Bred by Allen Poindexter in Indiana, the January-born filly’s granddam is one of five stakes producers out of stakes winner and Grade III-placed Prominent Feather. Those produced by the mares include stakes winners Gambler’s Justice, Wild Remarks, and Dirty Dangle. This filly’s second dam is a fifth-generation stakes producer with her own third dam the dam of Grade II winner and successful broodmare Silverbulletday.

De Meric Sales is the consignor of Hip 489, a daughter of four-time winner Mystic Miracle.

Mystic Miracle is the dam of stakes winner and Grade III-placed Flattery and multiple stakes performer Wegetsdamunnys. Herself, Mystic Miracle is one of six winners out of the multiple Grade II winner Mystic Lady, who saw four of those runners winning multiple races. Mystic Lady is also the granddam of the stakes placed Fleming and third dam of stakes winner Lionistic.

Success runs throughout this Machmer Hall and Carrie and Craig Brogden-bred filly’s family with three of her first four dams producing stakes winners. That lone non-stakes producer the granddam of a stakes horse.

Bred by Thor-Bred Stables, Hip 587 out of Malibu Moon mare Re Entry is consigned by Eddie Woods with her consignor buying her for $75,000 as a yearling.

Re Entry is the dam of Grade III winner Shotgun Hottie and two other winners from five to race with that group including five-time winner Fed Policy. Re Entry herself was unraced but is out of Swift Girl, who produced Grade I winner Sky Diva and stakes winner and multiple Grade I placed Quick Little Miss. Swift Girl is also a half-sister to multiple Grade I winner Pure Clan and Grade II winner Greater Good.

The first juvenile sale of the year starts on March 12 and runs through March 14 with each session kicking off at 11am ET.
