4-length stakes win for Camelot colt

Sir Erec (3c Camelot-Quiritis, by Galileo) brought another black-type win for Camelot with a runaway success in the Listed Martin Molony Stakes at Limerick on Saturday.

Michael Hussey partnered the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt to win the extended 12-furlong event by no less than four lengths from The King (3c Mastercraftsman-Catch The Moon, by Peintre Celebre).

"He is a nice horse. He was in a bit of a pocket but got me out of it and quickened up well,” said Hussey. “He is a nice big horse and uses himself well. He does everything well and there is a big improvement to come from him.”

Bred by GCE Farms Ltd, Sir Erec sold for 170,000gns as a foal.
