Camelot Colt Battles For Maiden Victory At Goodwood
The promising Sing Us A Song (2c Camelot – Quiritis, by Galileo) dug deep to justify favouritism in Wednesday’s ten furlong maiden at Goodwood.
Ralph Beckett’s charge was last seen finishing third in a mile maiden at Newbury and was partnered by Hector Crouch once again on his third start. Chasing the leader for much of the way, he produced a challenge two furlongs from home and was ridden approaching the final furlong. The bay rallied clear with another rivals and led on the line, as they finished four and three quarter lengths clear of the field.
The Valmont-owned winner was bought by Alex Elliott as a yearling for 200,000gns. Bred by GCE Farms, the son of Camelot is a full-brother to the talented but ill-fated Sir Erec (Camelot).
