Camelot Colt Gains Deserved Maiden Victory In Style
A drop back in trip saw Current Option (3c Camelot - Coppertop, by Exceed And Excel) gain a well-deserved maiden win at Thirsk on Tuesday.
The William Haggas-trained colt return to the seven-furlong trip of his debut second, having since been placed on all three subsequent starts. He was ridden prominently by Paul Hanagan, who pushed him to lead over a furlong out and was ridden out to score by two and a half lengths, with another length and a half back to the favourite in third.
Owned by Bernard Kantor, Current Option was bred by Grangecon Holdings out of a close relation to Listed winner Canary Row (Holy Roman Emperor).
