Camelot Colt Ignites Arc Dream With Group 2 Success

Connections of Sevenna’s Knight (4c Camelot – Sevenna, by Galileo) are now considering the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe for their progressive stayer after he justified favouritism in the Group 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier at Longchamp.

A Listed winner last season, Andre Fabre’s charge impressed with an eight length win in the Group 3 Prix de Barbeville last time out and was partnered by Mickael Barzalona once again on Sunday. The bay tracked the leader for much of the way and was asked to challenge from the 500m marker. He ran on well to lead entering the final furlong and stayed on to beat Shembala by a length and three quarters, with another three lengths back to Group 1 winner Double Major in third.

Speaking after the race, OTI Racing’s Terry Henderson said, “We're dreaming of the Arc, it's a game of dreams. If he runs well in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, and then if you got a wet track and there was a situation where there was no great three-year-old coming through, we'd certainly be giving the Arc some consideration.”

Sevenna Knight was bred by Gestut Ammerland, who raced the bay before he was purchased privately by OTI Racing. He becomes Camelot’s fourth Stakes winner of the month so far, with the unbeaten Los Angeles (Camelot) having kicked off a fine run in the Group 3 Derby Trial at Leopardstown. Bluestocking (Camelot) continued the trend with an impressive Group 2 victory at York, while Pensee Du Jour (Camelot) recorded her third Stakes success in the Group 2 Prix Corrida.
