Camelot Colt Lands German Derby Trial

The Markus Klug-trained Accon (3c Camelot - Anaita, by Dubawi) continued his upward curve to win Sunday’s Group 3 German Derby Trial at Baden-Baden.

Racing keenly under Jiri Palik in midfield, the bay made good headway on the turn for home and led from the two furlong pole. Staying on well inside the final furlong, he extended his advantage to a length and three quarters on the line.

Bred by Gestut Hof Ittlingen and owned by Holger Renz, Accon is a half-brother to Listed winner Amorella and comes from the family of Grand Prix De Paris second Axxos.
