Camelot Colt Rallies For Maiden Victory
Nader King (3c Camelot - Coppertop, by Exceed And Excel) built on last season’s promise to make a winning return in Saturday’s ten furlong maiden at Nottingham.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt was last seen finishing second to the impressive King Of Steel (Wootton Bassett), and with that winner subsequently earning an official rating of 101, was sent off favourite under Richard Kingscote. Ridden to make all, he was forced to battle with his nearest market rival from two furlongs out and dug deep to prevail by a nose on the line. The duelling pair finished three lengths and three quarters clear of the third.
Nader King is owned by Saeed Suhail, having been bought by Blandford Bloostock as a yearling for 340,000gns. The son of Camelot was bred by Craig English and is a full-brother to dual Stakes winner Current Option (Camelot).
