Camelot Filly All Class In Competitive Curragh Contest
The Loder Irish EBF Fillies’ Race has a history of producing talented fillies and it looks like Cairde Go Deo (2f Camelot - Elusive Galaxy, by Elusive City) shall continue the trend, after racing clear in the 2021 running at the Curragh on Sunday.
Second on debut in a Leopardstown maiden last month, the Ger Lyons-trained bay was sent off favourite as she dropped down to seven furlongs and was ridden to chase the leaders by Colin Keane. Producing a challenge approaching the two furlong marker, she soon led and was pushed out to win by an impressive four and a half lengths.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Shane Lyons said, “It's all about next year for Cairde Go Deo. We trained her mother and we loved her, and right from day one this filly told us she was all class.”
With recent winners of the race including Hydrangea and Lady Kaya, next season looks very exciting for Cairde Go Deo. Owned by Mark Dobbin, the daughter of Camelot was sold by breeder Haras Du Logis Saint German as a yearling for €105,000.
