Camelot Filly Backs Up Strong Form With Maiden Win
A drop back in trip saw the promising Bellaciaociao (3f Camelot - Moonlight In Paris, by Literato) get off the mark at Marseille on Tuesday afternoon.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget for owner/breeder JL Tepper, she finished second on debut behind a subsequent Listed winner and dropped back to nine furlongs on her third start. Jean-Bernard Eyquem settled her mount behind the leaders, pushing her along in the straight and drove her into the lead inside the final furlong. She kept on to win by a length, with another five lengths back to the third horse.
The daughter of Camelot becomes the first winner out of Group 3 second Moonlight In Paris and hails from the family of top-class race mare Lady’s Secret.
