Lady Wannabe (Camelot) Wins The Listowel Stakes at Listowel

Camelot Filly Gains Second Stakes Success

The Fozzy Stack-trained Lady Wannabe (4f Camelot - Wannabe Better, by Duke Of Marmalade) led home a 1-2 for Coolmore Stud sires in Tuesday’s Edmund and Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes.

Racing over nine furlongs, the bay chased the leaders under Chris Hayes and was pushed along approaching the two furlong marker. Making headway to lead 200 yards out, she stayed on strongly to win by a length and three quarters from Keats (Galileo).

Tuesday provided Lady Wannabe with her second Stakes success, having won a Listed mile contest last season. Owned by Mrs T Gaffney and Mrs Barbara Murphy, the daughter of Camelot was bred by Churchtown House Stud out of Group 3 winner Wannabe Better.
