Camelot Filly Impresses On Three-Year-Old Return
The Cheshire Oaks may now be on the cards for Katiesheidinlisa (3f Camelot - Spritza, by Spectrum) after impressing in the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newbury on Friday.
Having her first start of the season, the Tom Dascombe-trained filly was ridden to chase the leaders by Richard Kingscote and led from the two furlong pole. Shaken up approaching the final furlong, she was pushed out to score by two lengths and three quarters.
Derek Passant, who owns the winner in partnership with Hefin Williams, said after the race, “Tom had been saying she's a nice filly who was growing and we were hopeful. The ground was right and the distance was. Maybe we could look at the Cheshire Oaks.”
Bred by Glebe Farm Stud, Katiesheidinlisa was bought by SackvilleDonald for 75,000gns at the Tattersalls Book 1 Sale. She is a full-brother to three-time winner Gododdin and closely related to the highly-rated Rougemont (Montjeu).
