Camelot Filly Shows Class In Longchamp Maiden
The well-bred Virtuosite (2f Camelot - Legerete, by Rahy) went one better on her second start to win the Prix de la Poterne des Peupliers at Longchamp.
A fine second at Deauville last month, the Wertheimer homebred was reunited with Maxime Guyon on Sunday. He settled the bay at the back of the field, asking her to quicken as they approached the turn for home and produced a strong challenge in the straight. Leading approaching the final furlong, the Carlos Laffon-Parias-trained filly ran on strongly to score by three parts of a length.
The daughter of Camelot is out of dual Group winner Legerete, making Virtuosite a half-sister to Listed scorers Pilote and Equisse.
