Camelot Filly Wins Maiden On Second Attempt
Where I Wanna Be (2f Camelot - Travel, by Street Cry) built on a promising debut earlier this month to win the fillies’ maiden at Nottingham on Tuesday.
Fourth in a similar contest at Kempton, the Ralph Beckett-trained filly was sent off favourite to build on that effort under Rossa Ryan. The bay made all of the running in the extended mile contest and was ridden approaching the final furlong. Running on well under pressure, she dug deep to prevail by a nose on the line, with the front pair finishing four lengths clear of the third.
There should be more to come from Where I Wanna Be, who is owned by P Stokes and S Krase. The daughter of Camelot was bought by Badgers Bloodstock as a yearling for €95,000 from Camas Park, who bred her with Lynch Bages and Summerhill Bloodstock.
