Classic Aspirations For Camelot’s Latest Winner
Bluestocking (2f Camelot - Emulous, by Dansili) shaped like a smart prospect when staying on strongly to win Thursday’s Novice Stakes at Salisbury.
Racing over a mile, Ralph Beckett’s newcomer raced in midfield under Rob Hornby and was asked to quicken from three furlongs out. Making good headway approaching the final furlong, the penny dropped when she reached the rail and was driven out to score by a length and a quarter.
“Bluestocking is a nice filly,” Beckett said after the race. “I thought she might be too raw for today because she's a big, long, angular filly, but she goes well. That will be it for this season and I'd say you'd see her in an Oaks trial in the spring.”
Owned and bred by Juddmonte Farms, the exciting prospect continues a successful period for her sire Camelot, with Waterville (Camelot) producing an impressive turn of foot to land the €600,000 Irish Cesarewitch at the weekend.
