Classy Camelot Filly Goes One Better At Naas
A drop back in trip saw the progressive Ulster Blackwater (3f Camelot - Silver Rain, by Rainbow Quest) get off the mark in Monday’s Fillies Maiden at Naas.
Second last time out at Gowran, the daughter of Camelot tracked the leaders for much of the mile contest and was pushed along approaching the final furlong. Ridden to lead in the final 110 yards, she won by three parts of a length under Shane Cross, as Climate (Australia) ran on for second.
Trained by Joseph O’Brien for Sun Bloodstock, Ulster Blackwater sold for €190,000 as a yearling. Bred by Lynch Bages and Longfield Stud, she is a half-sister to two Stakes horses and 130,000gns broodmare purchase Semillon (Australia).
