Consistent Camelot Filly Gains Maiden Win
Rockview Consort (4f Camelot - Queen Padme, by Halling) gained a deserved win in the extended ten furlong maiden at Dundalk on Wednesday.
Narrowly denied on her three previous starts over course and distance, the John McConnell-trained bay was sent off favourite to go one better under Siobhan Rutledge and raced prominently throughout. Ridden to lead two furlongs from home, she kept on well when challenged and prevailed by three parts of a length on the line.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “She probably wants further, but we said we would have another crack at this trip. It is great to get the win and she will go on turf as well.”
Owned by Rockview Stables, the daughter of Camelot was bred by Mr J White.
