Consistent Filly Leads Home Camelot 1-2
A drop back in trip saw Constanta (3f Camelot - Diala, by Iffraaj) gain a deserved maiden victory in Friday’s Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Wolverhampton.
The William Haggas-trained filly had finished in the first four on three of her previous starts and was sent off favourite as she dropped down to nine and a half furlongs. Chasing the leaders under Adam Farragher, she was pushed along approaching the two furlong marker and was ridden to lead inside the final furlong. Running on well, she scored by two lengths as longtime leader National Treasure completed a 1-2 for Camelot.
Owned and bred by Sheikh Abdulla Al Khalifa, the daughter of Camelot is a half-sister to Group 3 scorer Skardu.
