Daughter Of Camelot Gains Deserved Stakes Success

The improving Light My Fire (5m Camelot - Dixie Dance, by Orpen) gained a deserved black-type success when running out a clear-cut winner of the Listed Premio Paolo Mazzanotte at Milan on Sunday.

The Karoly Kerekes-trained mare was Listed-placed last season over the same trip of a mile and three furlongs. Tracking the leaders for much of the way, she was travelling well when taking the lead two furlongs out and was ridden out under hands and heels to win by three and a half lengths. Cima Fire (Holy Roman Emperor) finished second to complete a 1-2 for Coolmore sires.

Light My Fire won in the colours of the Munich Syndicate and was bred by Haras du Cadran, Madame Patrick Ades-Hazan and Michel Henochsberg. She continues a fantastic run by her sire Camelot, who along with siring a number of recent maiden winners, sired Saturday’s impressive Derby Trial victor English King (Camelot).
