Dervish is 6-length winner for Camelot
Camelot’s first crop go from strength to strength and he was represented by another runaway winner at Tipperary on Sunday courtesy of the Jessie Harrington-trained Whirling Dervish (2c Camelot-Synergy, by Victory Note).
The exciting colt, who finished third on his only previous start, looked a black-type performer in the making as he took this 9-furlong contest by six lengths under Colm O’Donoghue.
"He got a lovely education at Galway and is a beautiful relaxed horse and would be asleep in the stalls," said Mrs Harrington. “It was only a matter of when Colm gave him a squeeze and he took off.
"He goes to the G3 Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown next.”
The winner was bred in Britain by Wood Farm Stud.
Red-hot Camelot was also on the mark the same afternoon when Aucun Regret (2f Camelot-Paris To Peking, by Intikhab), bred by Finanza Locale Consulting Srl, won for the Botti brothers in Rome.
The previous day, Casimir (2c Camelot-Casamassima, by Street Cry) made a superb racecourse debut in France for trainer Christophe Ferland when winning by five and a half lengths. The colt was bred by Haras du Mont dit Mont.
