Future Looks Bright For Sioux Nation’s Latest Winner

Brave Emperor (2c Sioux Nation - Roman Gal, by Holy Roman Emperor) became Sioux Nation’s fifth winner when finishing strongly in Tuesday’s five furlong maiden at Chepstow.

The Archie Watson-trained colt was sent off favourite on his second start and overcame a slow start to chase the leaders from the two furlong pole. Despite showing signs of inexperience, the bay ran on well to lead inside the final furlong and went on to win by half a length.

There should be more to come from Brave Emperor, who runs in the colours of Middleham Park Racing. The son of Sioux Nation is the first foal bred by Caroline Hanly and Sean Ronan out of the Holy Roman Emperor mare Roman Gal.
