Gleneagles Colt Scores On Return

Soowaih (3c Gleneagles - Anaamil, by Darshaan) took a step forward to make a winning return to action in Friday’s Novice Stakes at Newcastle.

Roger Varian’s charge was partnered by Cameron Noble on his first start since June and raced towards the back of the field for much of the mile contest. The bay was travelling well when switched left approaching the two furlong marker and made good headway when ridden a furlong later. Leading inside the final 110 yards, he kept on well to score by half a length.

The improving son of Gleneagles is owned by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum and was bred by Godolphin.
