Gleneagles Fan Stretches To €200,000 For Colt At BBAG

Liberty Racing continued their love affair with Gleneagles when securing one of his colts for €200,000, the third highest-priced lot at BBAG on Thursday.

Lars Wilhelm Baumgartner's operation has enjoyed great success with the Castlehyde Stud sire, having landed this year’s Group 1 Deustches Derby with Palladium (Gleneagles).

“We love the sire!” he said on Thursday. “We have had a lot of success with him and with the breeder of this colt, so we hope that this colt will continue that lucky association. He is a very good mover and he was our number one horse in the sale so we are delighted to buy him.”

Palladium is one of two new Group 1 winners by Gleneagles so far this season, with the versatile sire also responsible for July Cup victor Mill Stream.
