May Hill Next For Impressive Camelot Filly

Wild Goddess (2f Camelot – Grecian Light, by Shamardal) shaped like a smart prospect on Friday when drawing clear to win the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Newmarket.

The Charlie Appleby-trained bay caught the eye on debut earlier this month, when she broke slowly but finished strongly to finish fourth. Sent off favourite off the back of that promise, she raced prominently throughout the seven furlong contest and led with over two furlongs left to race. Ridden a furlong later, she ran on strongly under William Buick to win by four lengths.

The May Hill Stakes was later mentioned as a possible target for Wild Goddess, who is owned by breeder Godolphin.
