More To Come From Brave Camelot Colt
Point Nepean (3c Camelot - Sea Goddess, by Galileo) displayed an admirable attitude on debut when digging deep to land the Navan Racecourse Maiden on Sunday.
Shane Crosse rode Joseph O’Brien’s charge to track the leaders and produced a challenge approaching the two furlong marker. Keeping on well inside the final furlong, he led close home and rallied to deny Malawi (Galileo) by a short head.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Brendan Powell said, “It was a game effort. He's still quite raw and green. He'll improve in every way for the run.”
Point Nepean is owned by Lloyd Williams, for whom Joseph O’Brien trained another talented son of Camelot in Irish Derby victor Latrobe. His latest winner was bred by Snowdrop Stud Company out of a Galileo half-sister to Group 1 winning miler Steinbeck (Footstepsinthesand).
