More To Come From Camelot’s Latest Winner

The William Haggas-trained King’s Castle (3c Camelot - Kikonga, by Danehill Dancer) showed plenty of improvement on his three-year-old return when winning at Beverley on Wednesday.

Stepping up in trip to ten furlongs for the first time, the bay tracked the leaders for much of the way and was asked to quicken approaching the two furlong marker. Switched left to challenge outside the final furlong, he led inside the final furlong and won by half a length, with another three lengths and three quarters back to the third horse.

King’s Castle’s pedigree suggests he could improve with time, given that his second dam is a full-sister to champion three-year-old stayer Milan (Sadler’s Wells). Owned by Saeed Suhail, the son of Camelot was sold by Taroka Stud to William Haggas as a yearling for 115,000gns.
