Progressive Camelot Filly Delivers In Group 3 Thriller
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Penja (3f Camelot - Just With You, by Sunday Break) continued to go from strength to strength on Tuesday when securing her first Stakes success in the Group 3 Prix de Psyche at Deauville.
A clear winner of her second start as a two-year-old, the daughter of Camelot landed a Class 2 contest on her seasonal return and was last seen impressing at Class 1 level at Chantilly. Reunited with Cristian Demuro on Tuesday, she raced in mid-division for much of the ten furlong contest and was delivered late to deny Irish raider The Blue Brilliant (Fastnet Rock) in the shadow of the post.
Owned by Daniel-Yves Treves, Lauren Dassault, Ecurie B Weill and her trainer, the progressive filly was bred by SCEA Des Prairies, Benoit Jeffroy and Thomas Jeffroy. She becomes the first Group winner out of Just With You, who has a filly foal by Wootton Bassett.
