Progressive Camelot Filly Gets Off The Mark
Flirting Bridge (2f Camelot - Rachevie, by Danehill Dancer) showed a liking for the all-weather surface at Dundalk on Friday evening, when taking the fillies maiden over a mile.
Fifth on debut and third last time out at Leopardstown, the improving filly soon led under Billy Lee and was pushed along from two furlongs out. Ridden when challenged by the favourite Split Passion, she kept on well to score by three parts of a length on the line.
There should be more to come from the winner, according to Billy Lee, who later commented, “She's a lovely big strong filly and will have no problem stepping up in trip next season. She outstayed them but she picked up well too.”
Owned by Mrs Heather de Bromhead, Flirting Bridge becomes the second winner bred by T O’Dwyer and K O’Brien out of Rachevie, after Group 3 winner Helvic Dream.
