Progressive Filly Leads Home Camelot 1-2 In Bluebell Stakes
Dancing Tango (4f Camelot - Dream Approach, by New Approach) finished strongly to gain a deserved black-type success in Sunday’s Listed Bluebell Stakes at Naas.
The Joseph O’Brien-trained filly was narrowly denied on her first start in Stakes company and went on to finish third at Group 3 level. Reunited with Dylan Brown McMonagle at the weekend, she broke slowly before racing towards the back of the field and improved into midfield turning for home. Switched out to challenge, she had plenty of ground to make up from two furlongs out, but ran on strongly to lead inside the final 110 yards. Pushed out, she won by a length and a quarter from Azazat (Camelot), as daughters of the late Zoffany finished third and fourth.
“Things didn't really go to plan out of the gates for Dancing Tango,” McMonagle said after the race. “I let her find her feet and I knew she would come home well, it was just a matter of getting a clean run. She's an improving filly who deserves her success in this grade and was really tough today.”
