Promising Son Of Camelot Delivers At Leopardstown
The future looks bright for Leaders Listen (3g Camelot – Silver Rain, by Rainbow Quest) after Joseph O’Brien’s charge ran out a game winner of Thursday’s nine furlong maiden at Leopardstown.
The son of Camelot finished a promising fourth on debut and enjoyed a boost in form when the third horse went on to win his next two starts. He faced 16 rivals on his second start, where Dylan Browne McMonagle rode him in touch with the leaders and was asked to quicken approaching the straight. The front pair rallied clear of the field, with Leaders Listen asserting by half a length on the line.
“Leaders Listen is a nice, progressive horse,” said the winning trainer. “He had to be tough as the other horse had the bit of experience. He will go for a winners' race somewhere and he should have more to offer as he steps up in trip.”
The son of Camelot was bought by O’Brien as a yearling for €135,000 and is owned by ES Racing. He was bred by Lynch Bages and Longfield Stud out of Silver Rain, whose two-year-old colt Dubaian One (Sottsass) is in training with Andrew Balding.
