Saxon Warrior Colt Runs Out A Stylish Winner

Seraph Gabriel (2c Saxon Warrior – Archangel Gabriel, by Arch) shaped like a smart prospect when justifying favouritism in Tuesday’s seven furlong maiden at Lingfield.

The Ralph Beckett-trained bay finished a promising fourth in a Newbury maiden last month and was ridden prominently by Rossa Ryan once again on Tuesday. Improving to lead before the final furlong, he ran on well to beat 650,000gns buy Best Adventure by two and a quarter lengths.

The son of Saxon Warrior was bought by McCalmont Bloodstock as a foal for 120,000gns and now carries the colours of Marc Chan. He was bred by Hunscote Stud and Chris Humber out of Archangel Gabriel, whose colt by St Mark’s Basilica sold for 180,000gns last December.
