Sister To Russian Camelot Sold To Continue Career With Rouget
Russian Camilla (Camelot) will continue her racing career with Jean-Claude Rouget after selling to Oceanic Bloodstock for 300,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale.
Bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud, the two-year-old made a winning debut last month for Sylvester Kirk, but boasted further appeal on pedigree. The bay is a full-sister to Russian Camelot (Camelot), who made history when winning the Group 1 South Australian Derby in May. The Irish-bred went on to win the Group 1 Underwood Stakes and was placed in another three Group 1 contests during the course of the year.
After confirming he had bought Russian Camilla on behalf of Peter Brant, Michel Zerolo said, “She's a full-sister to a talented horse, a pretty filly from a beautiful family, and hopefully there will still be some improvement in her.”
