Bragbor (4g Saxon Warrior – Posh Claret, by Royal Applause) justified strong market support to make a winning debut in Friday’s novice stakes at Newcastle.

The €400,000 breeze-up buy was sent off favourite for the mile contest and raced in touch with the leaders for much of the way. Making headway approaching the final furlong, he ran on well to lead close home, beating previous winner Sovereign Sea by a short head. The pair finished three lengths clear of the third.

Darragh Keenan rode the winner for trainer George Scott and owner KHK Racing. The promising son of Saxon Warrior was bred by Grasshopper Bloodstock.
