Camelot Rearing

Step Up In Trip Unlocks Key To Camelot Colt

A step up in trip saw the Hugo Palmer-trained Arthur’s Court (2c Camelot - Logjam, by Royal Academy) gain his maiden win at Windsor on Monday evening.

Placed last time out over seven furlongs, he was given a hold-up ride on his first start over a mile, as James Doyle waited until the three furlong pole to make his move. Pressing the leading pair, he was driven out to lead approaching the final furlong and stayed on well to beat previous winner Dramatic Sands (Footstepsinthesand) by a length and three quarters.

Owned by John Livock, Nat Lacy and Mrs MV Magnier, Arthur’s Court was a €90,000 yearling purchase at Arqana by his trainer and Avenue Bloodstock. He was bred by Lynch-Bages and Rhinestone Bloodstock and is a half-brother to multiple Group winner Boris De Deauville.
