Cairde Go Deo (Camelot) Wins The Listed King George V Cup At Leopardstown

Talented Camelot Filly Aimed At Irish Oaks

Cairde Go Deo (3f Camelot - Elusive Galaxy, by Elusive City) followed up last month’s impressive Stakes success with an all-the-way win in the Listed King George V Cup at Leopardstown.

Friday saw the Ger Lyons-trained bay carry a penalty for her recent eight length win, as she dropped back to a mile and a half. Regular rider Colin Keane partnered her to make all, asking his mount to quicken in the straight and increased the pressure approaching the final furlong. Keeping on well, the daughter of Camelot won by a length.

Speaking after the race, trainer Ger Lyons said, “Cairde Go Deo is in the Irish Oaks and the dream is still alive. You cannot knock the way she did that. If she is placed in the Oaks we will be delighted.”

The Irish Oaks hopeful is owned by Mark Dobbin and was bred by Haras du Logis Saint Germain.
