Unbeaten Holy Roman Emperor Filly Shows Her Class
Great Generation (2f Holy Roman Emperor - Adutchgirl, by Dutch Art) shaped like a Stakes filly when drawing clear in the Fillies’ Conditions Stakes at Chester on Saturday.
The Marco Botti-trained juvenile finished strongly to make a winning debut at Haydock in July and remained over six furlongs on her second start. Stefano Cherchi maintained the partnership in the Class 2 contest and settled his mount in third in the early stages. Pushed along from two furlongs out, she led approaching the final furlong and ran on strongly to score by three and a quarter lengths. Adding to the impressive nature of the performance was the 93-rated favourite in second.
A step up in class is now expected for Great Generation, who is owned by Scuderia Sagam.
