Well-Related Camelot Filly Obliges On Second Start
Kitteridge (3f Camelot – Formidable Kitt, by Invincible Spirit) built on a promising debut to win her maiden in good style at Newcastle on Thursday.
The Hugo Palmer-trained bay finished second to a more experienced rival last month and was sent off favourite to go one better in Thursday’s fillies’ maiden over ten furlongs. Ridden prominently by Jason Hart, she improved to lead approaching the two furlong marker and kept on well inside the final furlong. The winning margin was two and a quarter lengths, with a further neck back to promising newcomer Lucykeys (Gleneagles) in third.
Kitteridge was bred by owner Chasemore Farm out of a half-sister to Chesham Stakes victor Arthur Kitt (Camelot).
