Wootton Bassett Nine for Karaka Book 1

The Wootton Bassett show rolls into Karaka this week and given the response to his first Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings at Magic Millions earlier this month we can expect serious interest in his offering of nine yearlings for the NZB National Yearling Sale Series Book 1.

A proven Group I sire in the Northern Hemisphere, the rise of Wootton Bassett has been well documented. A Group I winning son of Iffraaj, Wootton Bassett rose from humble beginnings in France to being acquired by Coolmore with his fee in Ireland set at €200,000 in 2024.

Wootton Bassett was a sensation at Magic Millions where he left the sale-topper and only $2million yearling of the sale with his filly from NZ Horse of the Year Avantage selling to David Ellis for $2.1million and he had 32 yearlings average $465,625 across Book 1 at the Gold Coast.

All eyes are now on New Zealand and his selection of yearlings for Karaka features some obvious standouts and they are all listed below.
