Getaway Glory (Getaway) Wins The 4YO Maiden At Loughanmore

Smart Four Year Old Winner For Getaway

Getaway Glory (4g Getaway - Milan Athlete, by Milan) finished strongly to make a winning debut in Monday’s Four-Year-Old Maiden at Loughanmore.

The Cormac Doyle-trained newcomer was settled in midfield by Ross Sugrue and improved to chase the leaders with three to jump. The bay quickened to dispute before the final fence and kept on strongly to win by a length and a half, with another 13 lengths back to the third.

The sales ring now beckons for Getaway Glory, who was bred by Will Kinsey out of a full-sister to useful chaser Real Milan (Milan).

Shortly after at Plumpton, the promising Godot (6g Getaway - La Cerisaie, by Old Vic) ran out a clear winner of the maiden hurdle over two and a half miles.

Placed in a bumper on debut last season, the Andy Irvine-trained bay since placed over hurdles on three occasions and was sent off favourite to gain a deserved win. Ridden prominently by Stan Sheppard, he led from two out and was soon clear, going on to score by a comfortable seven lengths.

Owned by Taylor and O’Dwyer, the son of Getaway was bred by Bryan Mayoh and Eskdale Thoroughbreds.
