Epicenter Yearlings Ready for Keeneland January
Champion 3-Year-Old Colt Epicenter sees his first yearlings visit the ring at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale on January 13 – 15 with 20 on offer during the three sessions.
The first through the ring is Hip 52, a Hill ‘n’ Dale-offered filly out of winning Dubawi mare Almashooqa bred by Newstead Corp. That mare’s four winners from five to race include the stakes winning Manaafith and five-time winner My Noble Lord.
Almashooqa is a half-sister to Grade III-placed Turjomaan and out of a half-sister to Grade I winner Summer Colony. Among the 14 stakes performers on the page are also champion Smart D N A and stakes winners Summer Laugh, Cajun Conquest, and Ornais.
A half-sister to the stakes placed Unanimously sells with Hill ‘n’ Dale as Hip 156 with an update after Wilson Tesoro finished second in the Grade I Champions Cup after the catalog was released.
Bred by Cypress Creek Equine and K K Thoroughbred Racing, the January-born filly is out of a Tiznow half-sister to champion Delightful Mary and multiple graded stakes winner and Grade I-placed Delightful Kiss among the four stakes performers out of Deputy’s Delight.
Wilson Tesoro is out of Dakota Wind’s half-sister Chesutoke Rose with another half-sister the granddam of multiple Grade I winner The Chosen Vron and a third the dam of stakes winner Dr. Ardito. In all, there are nine stakes performers on the page with five winning stakes.
A half-sister to November’s Grade II Clark Stakes winner Rattle N Roll sells with Indian Creek as Hip 249. Bred by Magnolia Mares, the filly out of Jazz Tune’s half-brother won the Grade I Breeders’ Futurity as a juvenile as well.
Jazz Tune was a winning racemare during her own career and is a half-sister to the stakes winning Rap Tale and stakes placed Cherokee Rap. Rap Tale is also the dam of the Australian stakes winner Transact.

The January-born filly’s two-time winning dam Screaming Skylar is the dam of two winners from three to race as one of four stakes producers out of the stakes placed Awe That. Those stakes producers include Screaming Skylar’s Grade II winning full sister Bel Air Beauty.
As a broodmare, Bel Air Beauty has produced Canadian champion Stacked Deck and Grade II placed Valentino Beauty among her three stakes performers. Another sister also produced the Grade III winner True Royalty with 11 stakes performers overall under this Norevale Farm and Antrim Bloodstock’s filly’s first two dams.
Selling as Hip 381 with Hill ‘n’ Dale is a March-born half-brother to American Pharoah’s stakes winner and Grade III-placed Hudson River bred by Coolmore.
The pair is out of the Grade III-placed Shell House, who has produced four winners from six to race. A two-time winner, Shell House is a half-sister to the Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Diabolical and Grade III winner and Grade I-placed What a Name. A full sister to Grade II winner Champagne Anyone is the dam of Hip 522, a Bobby Flay-bred filly offered by Stone Farm.
This is the first foal out of Street Sense mare Amalfi Spritz, who is also a half-sister to the dam of stakes placed Music Festival. They are out of an unraced half-sister to Argentinean champion Miss Loren, Group II winner Milano Phone and Grade III winner Mr. Light among the four stakes performers out of Luminare.
Champagne Anyone saw both of her runners win in 2024 including her juvenile, who won on debut in late November.
Epicenter’s last through the ring is the Denali Stud-offered Hip 1099.
Bred by EGL-One, the colt is the first out of the stakes winning Ionic. A three-time winner, Ionic is a half-sister to Group II winner and Group I placed Sir Gerry and a three-quarter sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade II-placed Involuntary. Involuntary is out of Ionic’s half-sister Invariable and produced Canadiana champion Philip My Dear.
