Tiz The Law Represented by Strong Group of Mares At Keeneland
One of the best of his generation and a better racehorse than his leading young sire, Tiz The Law is represented by 18 mares carrying his foals at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Hinkle Farms sends homebred filly Reminiscent through the ring as Hip 621 in-foal to Tiz The Law on a March 27 cover. Reminiscent is a half-sister to Grade I winner Sharp Azteca and four other winners out of So Sharp. That mare is a half-sister to Grade II winner Mint Lane and Grade I-placed Sister Girl Blues, who produced Grade III winner and Grade I Kentucky Derby runner-up Firing Line. A third sibling produced dual Grade I winner Bowies Hero.
Hip 659 is a granddaughter of champion and Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors. Presented by Elite Sales, Some Kind of Blue is a half-sister to Grade I winner Eskimo Kisses and Grade I-placed Silver Ride from her dam’s four winners. Winning Colors is also the dam of the stakes-placed stakes producer Golden Colors and Storming Winnie, who produced stakes winner and producer La Conseillante.
American Pharoah’s winning daughter Speedy Vanessa goes through the ring as Hip 664. Covered by Tiz The Law on March 8 for her first foal, she is a half-sister to Grade I winner Karlovy Vary. Karlovy Vary is also a proven producer as the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Mean Mary and Uncle Mo's Grade III winner Bye Bye Melvin. Another one of Speedy Vanessa’s seven winning siblings is Grade II-placed Rocket Legs.
Gleneagles’ winning daughter Cloud Ten is one of the best bred mares in this sale’s catalog. She is out of Street Cry mare Better Not Cry, who is out of the Grade II winning Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour. Better Than Honour produced Grade I Belmont winners Rags to Riches and Jazil, Grade II winner Casino Drive and stakes winner Man of Iron.
In addition to that group, Better Than Honour is the matriarch of a family that includes Grade I winner Streaming Grade II winning Greatest Honour, and Grade III winner Cezanne among those named on this filly’s page.
The foal Gold d’ Medaglia is carrying is a three-quarter sibling to multiple Grade I-placed Golden Principal. That Constitution filly is the second foal out of the mare going through the ring as Hip 880 with Gold d’ Medaglia having two winners from two to race. Bred to Tiz The Law on a March 21 cover, Gold d’ Medaglia’s owners have stuck to breeding to the Tapit sireline since Golden Principal’s win – she also has a yearling Cupid colt to come.
Grade I winner Funny Moon goes through the ring with Denali Stud as Hip 1682 carrying to Tiz The Law on a March 18 cover. The dam of five foals to race, she has seen three visit the winner’s circle, led by multiple Grade II placed This Tea. Funny Moon is one of three stakes performers for her dam Fun Crowd, who is a half-sister to Grade I winner Vanlandingam. Fun Crowd has also produced three stakes-producing fillies.
Warrendale Sales is the consignor of Hip 1818, the stakes winning Giant’s Causeway mare Perfect For You. Also Grade 3-placed, Perfect For You was a successful racehorse but is an even better broodmare. The foal she’s carrying to Tiz The Law on an April 8 cover will be a half-sibling to Grade I winner Romantic Vision and to stakes-placed Hard Tack. In all, Perfect For You has produced four winners from four to race with those winners registering 21 wins between them.
The Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale starts on November 10 with a noon session. Each of the nine sessions after that one takes place at 10am daily.
