Yeats’ Flooring Porter Impresses With Another Big Race Win
A hugely impressive performance saw Flooring Porter (9g Yeats – Lillymile, by Revoque) add the Kerry National to his glittering CV on Wednesday.
There seemed to be no stopping Gavin Cromwell’s three-time Grade 1 winner in the Grade 3 feature, as he passed the post for a second time over ten lengths clear of his rivals. The likeable nine-year-old had doubled his advantage by the third last and was eased down into a canter, as he scored by four and a quarter lengths under Keith Donoghue.
Cromwell later described Flooring Porter as “the horse of a lifetime” for his yard and the syndicate owners. “It's brilliant. He obviously went hard and I was praying him across every fence on the last circuit. He just kept the revs up and it was a brilliant performance.”
Plans remain fluid for the nine-time winner, according to his trainer. The son of Yeats is much the best performer bred by Sean Murphy out of the mare Lillymile.
