200,000gns etc for Australias in Tatts Book 2

A big variety of international buyers were eager to snap up the second crop Australia yearlings on offer in Newmarket this week at Tattersalls.

It was Book 2 of the October Yearling Sale and among the youngsters to make a splash was a grandson of G1-placed Sanaya offered from the Gaffney family’s Churchtown House Stud and selling for 200,000gns to SackvilleDonald.

"Australia oozes class - and we wanted to give the mare the best possible start. She had a Zoffany filly foal this year and she went back to Australia and is in foal,” said Michael Gaffney of Churchtown House Stud.

Other popular Australias included a colt sold from Castletown Stud to Joseph O’Brien for 115,000gns and a 100,000gns colt bought by Australian agent John Foote.
