Australia Filly Impresses Lee On Debut
Hollys Graces (2f Australia – Potion, by Pivotal) emerged as a potentially smart prospect when making a winning debut in the seven furlong fillies’ maiden at Dundalk on Friday.
Henry de Bromhead’s newcomer was settled in midfield by Billy Lee and was switched left to make headway two furlongs out. Ridden approaching the final furlong, she led soon after and ran on well to beat Head To Head (Wootton Bassett) by a length and a half.
“I rode her in the barrier and really liked her that day,” Billy Lee reflected, while on Friday’s performance, he said, “When she got up and travelling she travelled beautifully in my hands. She has a lovely long flowing stride and when she hit the straight and really opened up I knew I was always going to win from a furlong and a half down.”
The daughter of Australia was bred by Mrs Sue Ann Foley and is owned by Envirogreen Housing Services Ltd.
