Well-Related Australia Filly Not For Catching
Pacifist (3f Australia – Queenscliff, by Danehill Dancer) took another step forward to get off the mark in Saturday’s mile maiden at Newcastle.
The Charlie Johnston-trained filly was denied close home by a more experienced rival at Kempton last time out, but was never headed on her third start, making all to win by two and three quarter lengths.
Speaking after the race, winning rider Sean D Bowen said: “Pacifist was very straightforward and galloped out all the way to the line. I think she could step up in trip going forward.”
Bred by Lisbrook, Pacifist is owned by Miss D Finkler, A Herd and Dr P Holloway. The daughter of Australia is a full-sister to Irish 2,000 Guineas Trial runner-up Ace Aussie.
