Australia Colt Returns A Handsome Profit At Goffs
A son of Australia returned a handsome profit on his foal price when selling to MV Magnier for €525,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale on Wednesday.
Bought by Flash Conroy as a foal for €56,000, the chesnut subsequently received a dream update when his half-brother Mystery Power (No Nay Never) took the Group 2 Superlative Stakes and recently finished second in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes.
It also continues terrific success for breeder Siobhan O’Rahilly, who bought the colt's dam for a mere €5,500 in 2013 and has since been rewarded by the highly-rated Fayez (Zoffany) and Stakes-placed Seaella, as well as the exciting juvenile. O’Rahilly still has a foal full sibling to Mystery Power, with her mare back in foal to Australia.
MV Magnier sourced a daughter of Australia later in the day from Islanmore Stud, as he stretched to €280,000 for the filly who shares her page with Xaar.
