Australia Filly Extends Unbeaten Record
Cayenne Pepper (2f Australia - Muwakaba, by Elusive Quality) made it two from two when taking the Glenvale Stud Race at Tipperary on Thursday.
Sent off favourite for the seven and a half furlong contest, the Jessica Harrington-trained filly soon led under Shane Foley and was pushed along from over a furlong out to hold off Royal County Down (Gleneagles) by a length. The first pair home finished three lengths clear of the third horse.
Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Kate Harrington said of future plans, “I'd imagine now we'll step her up to Listed or Group company. Something like the Sliver Flash Stakes is a possibility.”
Owned by Jon Kelly, Cayenne Pepper was bought by Harriet Jellet as a foal for 195,000gns. She was bred by GHS Bloodstock and JC Bloodstock out of a half-sister to Stakes performer Morghim and comes from the family of Urban Sea, et al.
