Australia Filly Produces Smart Performance At Kempton
The Andrew Balding-trained Goolwa (3f Australia - Pivotalia, by Pivotal) shaped like a progressive type when winning the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Kempton on Wednesday.
Stepping up to a mile and a half on her second start, she raced in midfield for much of the way and made her move approaching the two furlong marker. Pushed along to lead a furlong later, she was ridden out to win by two lengths under David Probert.
Goolwa is owned by Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum and was bred by Brian O’Neill. The half-sister to dual Group 3 winner Onenightidreamed (Footstepsinthesand) continues an outstanding run for Australia, who was responsible for Group 1 and 2 winners at the weekend.
